Top Stars Retain Major Tag Team Championships On WWE NXT
WWE NXT kicked off the 2025 edition of the two-part television special, Gold Rush. Following on from a successful episode of Monday Night RAW, which took place at Madison Square Garden, Gold Rush emanated from The Theatre at MSG.
The power-packed episode began with a high-profile mixed tag team match as the team of Ethan Page and Chelsea Green defended their AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championships against Joe Hendry and Thea Hail.
Both Ethan and Chelsea have been alinged together for several weeks now and this partnership has been fruitful for both members as they’re both double champions currently.
In addition to the Mixed Tag Team Titles, Page holds the NXT North American Championship while Chelsea Green recently won her WWE Women’s United States Championship back.
Ethan Page and Chelsea Green retain their titles on WWE NXT’s Gold Rush
The four wrestlers involved in the match put on a great show for the crowd present at The Theatre. Both teams were evenly matched as Ethan Page dominated against Joe Hendry while Thea Hail had the upper hand against Chelsea Green.
The match seemed to be going in favour of Hail towards the end as she fought off both Chelsea and Ethan, while also dealing with Alba Fyre. She locked Chelsea in the Kimura lock but just when it looked like she would get the win, Page pushed Joe Hendry onto the women, breaking the lock.
The double champs, remain double champs. 👊

This allowed Chelsea to take advantage of a groggy Thea, who took the most impact from Hendry’s fall, and hit her with the Unpretty-Her to retain the AAA Mixed Tag Team Championships.
