Tony Khan Introduces New ROH Championship
Tony Khan has introduced a new Ring of Honor championship during the most recent tapings for the brand.
There are seven current championships in Ring of Honor and the company’s owner Tony Khan has announced plans to introduce a new championship. This news comes just two days after Tony Khan and ROH ran their Final Battle PPV on December 15th.
The ROH World Championship is currently involved in the Continental Classic tournament that the ROH World Champion Eddie Kingston is involved in. That title will be merged with the new AEW Continental Championship and the NJPW Strong Openweight Championship.
The two other men’s singles titles are the ROH World TV Title held by Kyle Fletcher and the ROH Pure Championship held by Wheeler Yuta.
There are also the ROH Tag Team Titles held by MJF and an injured Adam Cole. Meanwhile, the ROH World Six Man Tag Team Titles are held by the Mogul Embassy’s Brian Cage, Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona.
Tony Khan Is Introducing New Women’s Title To ROH
While the male wrestlers in ROH have titles to go after, there was only one current ROH Women’s Title that is held by Athena. However, that’s about to change.
At the AEW Collision tapings on December 16th that also include Ring of Honor, Tony Khan announced that Ring of Honor will have a new ROH Women’s TV Championship. The segment will likely air on the December 21 episode of ROH on Honor Club.
It was not announced how the inaugural champion will be crowned, but those details will likely come out in the weeks ahead.
