The Undertaker Addresses Returning To In-Ring Action
The Undertaker has been retired from in-ring action since 2020.
His last match in the Stamford promotion was against AJ Styles in a Boneyard Match at WrestleMania 36.
Since calling the curtain on his illustrious career, The Deadman has been working behind the scenes on various WWE products.
Currently, he serves as a mentor on Legends & Future Greats, WWE’s professional wrestling reality competition. His mentee, Tyra Mae Steele, won the first season and is currently signed with NXT.
One of the WWE LFG mentors and former WWE Tag Team Champion, Bubba Ray Dudley, was recently the guest on The Undertaker’s Six Feet Under podcast.
Dudley bluntly asked The Phenom whether he had received any “ridiculous offer” to step into the squared circle for a last run.
The 60-year-old host shut down all possibilities of an in-ring return with an unequivocal ‘no.’
Bubba Ray Dudley: Is there that stupid number? Is that the ridiculous offer that somebody could come to you with and go, ‘Here, put the jacket and the hat on one last time’?
The Undertaker: No. I don’t think…look, the only way that I could put the hat and the coat back on is I’d have to get back in the ring. And I can’t do that because that also jeopardizes the legacy. As much as I have here [points to head] and as much as I have here [points to heart], I know that there’s not enough left in the tank to do that. [H/T WrestlingNews.co]
The Undertaker’s Contribution To Lucha Libre AAA
The Undertaker has emerged as a driving force behind Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide.
WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H shared a behind-the-scenes video from the Mexican promotion’s Triplemania supercard, crediting Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker for their contributions.
Here I am with the two guys I respected the most of my generation. As if this wasn’t big enough, having that opportunity, I can’t even describe it.
If you would have told me 20 years ago that one of the big driving forces behind AAA in Mexico would be the Undertaker, it would be hard for me to sort of wrap my head around that.
The Phenom had previously expressed the desire to be involved in the company’s functioning in a backstage role.
While he does not currently hold any official title, he is expected to stick around with AAA for the foreseeable future.
Meanwhile, he was full of praise for a former World Champion, who recently appeared on his podcast. Read what he said about Gunther.
