The Rock Suffers Injury Filming New Movie

The Rock is feeling the pace while filming his latest movie.

Back in December, it was announced The Rock would be taking the lead role in The Smashing Machine — a film based on the life and career of UFC legend Mark Kerr. The movie is based on the documentary of the same name and chronicles Kerr’s battles with addiction as well as inside the octagon.

The description of the film reads:

‘The Smashing Machine’ is a drama based on the story of Mark Kerr, the legendary MMA fighter from the no-holds-barred era of the UFC at the peak of his career. He struggles with addiction, winning, love and friendship in the year 2000.”

With filming now well underway, The Rock was recently pictured looking almost unrecognisable as he worked on the numerous fight scenes. In a new post on Instagram, the WWE legend also disclosed his body had been taking a beating, showing off an elbow injury.

The Great One joked that his elbow is now the size of a cantaloupe, speculating he’s sustained soft tissue damage while commenting that the build-up of fluid will need draining. Naturally, he threw in a plug for his tequila, quipping that it’s the best treatment he’s found for his injuries.

The Rock Set To Make WWE Return

Although he’s currently back in Hollywood, it’s been reported that The Rock will return to face Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41. The megastar pinned Rhodes on night one of WrestleMania 40 and the pair then came face to face on Raw.
