The Rock Fires Back After Daughter Receives Death Threats
The Rock has responded after his daughter Ava received death threats.
On the February 2nd episode of SmackDown, Cody Rhodes seemingly stepped aside to let The Rock challenge Roman Reigns. While the story seems to have changed yet again since, at the time the move was met with anger by large sections of WWE’s fanbase.
Loud “Rocky Sucks” chants reigned down from the stands on the following episode of Raw, and “#WeWantCody” trended for days on social media. However, some “fans” stepped well over the line and sent The Rock’s daughter and NXT General Manager Ava death threats.
Ava responded by calling out the trolls, before deleting her social media account altogether.
Appearing on The Pat McAfee Show, The Rock has now had his say on the situation reminding people what happens in the ring is just entertainment.
“She’s feeling it too [the fan backlash]… Oh yeah, Cody’s gotta finish his story… By the way, she’s also got death threats. It’s crazy… C’mon guys, we’re all in this thing, and by the way, what happens in the middle of the ring and on these storylines, don’t forget that, again inside baseball, outside the ring, we all talk. We all can figure this thing out while working together.”
The Rock Slaps Cody Rhodes
The Rock’s comments came just before his appearance at the WrestleMania Kick-Off Event in Las Vegas. To say the event was explosive would be an understatement with Roman Reigns challenging Rock, Seth Rollins mocking all involved, Cody Rhodes challenging Roman Reigns, and eventually, Rock slapping Rhodes in the face.
