The New Day Tease SmackDown Move: “Maybe We’ll Talk To Nick Aldis”

Kofi Kingston Xavier Woods The New Day WWE SmackDown

The New Day could be set to take advantage of the new tension between Raw and SmackDown.

Since Triple H installed Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis as the respective General Managers of both Raw and SmackDown, the intensity between the two main roster brands in WWE has increased.

Aldis had Pearce and Raw star Jey Uso removed from his show but offered an apology for his “rookie mistake” when he appeared backstage on Raw. With the brands now under different management once again, WWE stars could be looking to leverage their positions for opportunities and The New Day is no different.

On Raw, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods – former nine-time WWE Tag Team Champions as part of The New Day – picked up a win over Alpha Academy, who had a new recruit at ringside, and could be looking to get back in the hunt for gold, no matter which brand they need to be on to get it.

The New Day threatens SmackDown move for title opportunities

Speaking on Raw Talk after Monday’s show, Kofi Kingston noted that after their win over Alpha Academy they are climbing the ranks again in the tag team division:

“Look at us now. As you can see this ladder right here, it’s just like us climbing the ranks in this tag team division.”

Xavier Woods added that if their success in the tag team division was not rewarded on Monday Night Raw, then The New Day could head to SmackDown for a conversation with the blue brand’s General Manager, Nick Aldis:

“We were fighting in order to climb the ranks in this division so that we can then again become WWE World Tag Team Champions and if that’s gonna happen here on Monday Night Raw, maybe we go talk to a man named Adam Pearce considering that match we had was so piercing.”

“If Pearce won’t give us that tag match, you know, we used to run SmackDown, maybe we’ll go talk to Nick Aldis because SmackDown’s definitely gonna want all this!”

The current Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions are Finn Balor and Damian Priest of The Judgment Day who won the title back from Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso on the 16th of October edition of Raw.
