Tay Melo On AEW Championship Aspirations – “I Was Never Motivated Enough”

Tay Melo wants all the championships in AEW.

Melo had made it clear that when she is back from maternity leave she wants to win a title in AEW. Whilst Melo has previously held the AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championship alongside her husband Sammy Guevara, she is yet to capture gold in All Elite Wrestling.

Not happy with just winning one championship, the former JAS member has revealed she would like to make history as the first person to hold the Women’s and TBS Championship.

Speaking on Sammy Guevara’s vlog, Melo revealed that she never felt that she needed to win a championship more than anything else, but that has since changed:

“I wanna get a title. All the belts, I’m not kidding. I’m gonna go for it all. Of course, I want the world title. But I’m up to do the TBS [Title] too. It’s literally like I was never motivated enough, I think. It’s almost like, ‘Yeah, everybody wants a title.’ But I was never like, ‘I want it more than anything,’ and right now, I do. So I’m getting it because I don’t know one thing in my life that I wanted to do and I never did. So it is what it is,”

Tay Melo Expecting First Child With Sammy Guevara

Melo and Guevara would announce the news publicly during the Double or Nothing pay-per-view using a series of flashcards. Despite the couple being heels onscreen, Melo admitted that she was not expecting such a positive reaction when the pregnancy was made public.
