Surprise Name Added To Commentary For AEW Dynamite

There will be a special guest commentator on AEW Dynamite.

On August 19, Taz announced that he would be missing AEW’s trip to the United Kingdom. This means that the former ECW World Champion will miss Dynamite in Glasgow, Scotland, and Forbidden Door in London on August 24.

In November 2024, Taz confirmed that he’d undergone knee replacement surgery and was working on his recovery. It’s this recovery that means the veteran will be missing the trip to the UK, as the long-haul flight would put too much stress on his knee.

That surgery came after Taz revealed that doctors told him he’d need both knees and both shoulders replaced. He stressed that this had more to do with overtraining rather than any bumps taken in the ring.

Taz Replaced By Former AEW World Champion

In a post on social media, it’s been announced that Danielson will be replacing Taz on commentary for Dynamite at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland.

This will mark the first time that Danielson has featured on television since helping “Hangman” Adam Page claim the World Championship at All In Texas. Following that appearance, he denied that he would be returning to the ring.

“Special Guest Commentator Bryan Danielson.

We haven’t seen or heard from former AEW World Champion @BryanDanielson since All In Texas + tonight he joins the commentator’s desk! Don’t miss Dynamite from Scotland, TONIGHT!”

The announcement just after it was confirmed that Bryan Danielson would be featured on the zero-hour pre-show at Forbidden Door. Danielson has a mixed history at the event, picking up a win over Shingo Takagi in 2024, while he also beat Kazuchika Okada in 2023. However, during the match with Okada, he suffered a broken arm.
