Strong Performances By WWE Star Changed Booking Plans

Triple H thinking WWE

One WWE star caused recent booking plans to change through their exploits in the ring.

Fightful Select has reported a featured match at Backlash and being part of Money In The Bank wasn’t necessarily originally in the works for Zelina Vega in WWE.

Original plans indicate that Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley was set to squash Vega at Backlash in Puerto Rico despite the obvious hero’s welcome that the challenger received. A change was made to make the match more competitive, with Ripley said to be happy to accommodate the switch, and the following push Zelina Vega received was a result of her performance and the reception she received in that match.

What has Zelina Vega done in WWE since Backlash?

Since her loss to Rhea Ripley at Backlash, Zelina Vega has picked up wins over Lacey Evans and IYO SKY on SmackDown with the first of those booking her place in the women’s Money In The Bank match in London, England.

Vega was not successful in that endeavour with SKY winning the briefcase on that occasion.

Zelina Vega’s LWO teammates Rey Mysterio and Santos Escobar recently did battle for the right to face Austin Theory for the US Championship. Escobar won the bout when it was stopped as a result of an apparent head injury to the WWE Hall of Famer.
