Stephanie McMahon squared off against Roman Reigns multiple times in WWE during the Authority storyline in the early 2010s.

McMahon and her husband, Paul “Triple H” Levesque, were hierarchical menaces, often setting up wrestlers in disadvantageous positions for defying them.

Roman Reigns, John Cena, and Daniel Bryan were some of the wrestlers who were caught getting on The Authority’s wrong side quite often.

During a recent tête-à-tête with Stephanie McMahon, Reigns got candid about his wrestling journey, also discussing his leukemia diagnosis and life outside wrestling.

While appearing on What’s Your Story? With Steph McMahon, Reigns and the host discussed one of their in-ring altercations, during which McMahon’s series of slaps caused serious injury to Reigns’ eardrum.

Only because if I didn’t, I knew you’d slap me 15 times in a row. You busted my eardrum, shattered that sucker. The doctor’s like “Oh yeah.” If you’re gonna hit someone, hit ’em!

You’re first few were good, good workers, then I don’t know what happened.

Stephanie McMahon Apologizes To Roman Reigns For Attacking Him

After the episode aired on her YouTube page, Stephanie McMahon took to X, where she posted a message apologizing to Roman Reigns.

On the podcast, The Billion Dollar Princess also complained about Reigns’ constant rejection of her pitches, but admitted that it earned him her respect.

One of the things that was always so different about you was when we were working together, I would always try and give you cheap lines like easy, “go stay in the kitchen,” stereotypical type stuff and you never wanted to do it. And I’d always be like “Oh, it would get such a big reaction, it would work!”

But it was never comfortable for you to do that and I always respected so much that you wanted to do it your own way. I always felt that I couldn’t get through to you, like what am I missing, how can I help him? How can I help get him what he wants? I was the heel obviously and I want you to shine.

At the time, WWE was accused by fans of constantly shoving Reigns down their throats despite them not liking him as the face of the company.

Since then, the 40-year-old star has come a long way, becoming one of the top stars of the Stamford promotion.
