Shocking Details Revealed About Top WWE Champion Signing New Deal
A current champion in WWE signed a new deal with the company while details reveal how close the wrestler was to having an expired contract.
There are several big names within World Wrestling Entertainment who have signed new deals in recent months.
Former World Champions like Rey Mysterio, Seth “Freakin” Rollins and Finn Balor are among the wrestlers who have agreed to new long-term deals. Keep in mind that some wrestlers likely re-sign without ever getting reported, but at least with those mentioned above, they have been reported publicly.
Following his World Heavyweight Championship win at WrestleMania 40, WWE superstar Damian Priest revealed that he signed a new contract with the company. Priest also signed a deal with the Paradigm Talent Agency as well.
It has been reported by Fightful Select that Priest’s new WWE contract was completed a few months ago. The shocking bit of news is that the contract that came up in February was just a few days away from expiring. That’s cutting it very close.
The story added that sources within World Wrestling Entertainment said they always planned on keeping Priest and they talked a lot before the deal became official.
In addition to that, Priest had full control over his new theme song, which has gone over exceptionally well within WWE.
Damian Priest won the World Heavyweight Title at WrestleMania 40 after cashing in Money in the Bank on Drew McIntyre. In the days that followed, WWE announced that they were changing around the Talent Relations department, which led to multiple people being fired and others being brought in.
Becky Lynch’s WWE Contract Set To Expire Soon
While Damian Priest holds the biggest men’s prize on WWE Raw as the World Heavyweight Champion, Becky Lynch is the Women’s World Champion. Lynch’s name has been in the news as well because there is apparently less than a month left on her contract with World Wrestling Entertainment.
Lynch is advertised for WWE Raw on May 13th.
