Seth Rollins Opens Up About Injury Struggles

Seth Rollins made sure he didn’t quit.

In October, Seth Rollins revealed that he expects to be out of action for around six months after undergoing shoulder surgery. Rollins suffered the injury in his match with Cody Rhodes at Crown Jewel in Australia.

The injury drastically sped up Rollins’s storyline with The Vision, and he was quickly kicked from the group with an attack by Bron Breakker. In Rollins’ absence, Breakker will now challenge CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship on Raw on January 5.

Seth Rollins Reflects On Injury Nightmare

During an appearance on the Games With Names show, Rollins opened up about exactly how he suffered the injury.

“I jumped from one turnbuckle all the way across the ring to the other turnbuckle where Cody Rhodes was hanging upside down and I headbutted him. But in the landing, I didn’t stick it. I did not stick the landing. I rotated a little bit to my left, landed hard on my left elbow, jolted it up into the shoulder. Felt it go right away.”

Rollins added that he was nervous to take a Cross Rhodes from the top rope, given the injury, but he gritted it out.

“Fortunately, I was able to get through everything. I took his finisher off the top rope, which was pretty scary at that point because I knew I was going to land harshly on my shoulder so I kind of kept it tucked real tight.”

Despite his injury, it was recently reported that Seth Rollins remains factored into plans for WrestleMania 42. According to Rollins, the timeframe for his recovery means that he could be fit for the event, but that’s far from a guarantee.
