Seth Rollins Describes Recently Hearing Loudest Crowd Reaction He’s Ever Heard
Seth Rollins says that at a recent WWE event, he heard the loudest crowd reaction of his career.
When it comes to popularity, Raw’s World Heavyweight Champion Seth “Freakin” Rollins is near the top of the list in WWE. Some may say that it’s because he has a catchy entrance song that the fans love to sing, but it’s also because he’s a really good professional wrestler who has been a top star in WWE for nearly a decade.
Earlier this week, Seth Rollins was named the top professional wrestler in the world in the Pro Wrestling Illustrated 500 list. Interestingly, in second and third were Roman Reigns and Jon Moxley, who was known as Dean Ambrose in WWE. That trio was collectively known as The Shield, who debuted in 2012, and all of whom became main event, Hall of Fame level performers.
At the WWE Superstar Spectacle event in Hyderabad, India on September 8th, Seth Rollins teamed up with John Cena to beat Imperium’s Ludwig Kaiser & Giovanni Vinci.
While talking to WWE’s The Bump this week, Rollins spoke about the incredible crowd reaction he received from the fans in India.
“That was beautiful. That was great. Getting to India and back was 50 hours in the air. It was a lot of travel and we were there on the ground for less than 24 hours. So it was a lot of travel for one show. A lot of people asked me, ‘How was it? What was it like for you?’ And I said, if the crowd wasn’t the most electric crowd I’ve ever been in front of, I wouldn’t consider going back because of the travel schedule for one show. But they made it so worth it. It was truly an incredible experience.”
As he continued, Seth Rollins spoke about the loudest reaction he ever heard when John Cena made his entrance.
“They’re singing my song, they start chanting for Cena, I’m in the ring when John’s music hit — I’m getting goosebumps just talking about it — it was the loudest reaction I’ve ever heard. I’m talking — I’ve been in front of full stadiums packed out, 75,000 people. This place was rabid. When he threw his shirt into the crowd, there was a fight over his t-shirt. It was unbelievable.”
Seth Rollins likely will be facing Shinsuke Nakamura again
At WWE Payback two weeks ago, Seth Rollins main evented the show with a pinfall victory over his veteran challenger Shinsuke Nakamura. However, Nakamura attacked Rollins after the match. Even though Rollins won the match, he had to be helped out of the building while Nakamura was the one who was able to walk out.
Since then, Seth Rollins has been calling for a rematch with Nakamura, who hasn’t made it clear when he wants the rematch to happen. Considering that WWE’s next Premium Live Event is a show called Fastlane on October 7th, that seems like the likely time and place for the next Rollins-Nakamura match.
