Seth Rollins’ Injury May Have Been One Big Ruse
Seth Rollins suffered a knee injury at Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 12th, 2025, and has been out of action since.
The Visionary went up against LA Knight at the special event, but had to endure defeat at the hands of The Megastar.
It so happens that Mr. Money in the Bank plays an important role in at least two current storylines, and his being out of action for an unknown period will derail all creative angles associated with them.
Seth Rollins’ injury at Saturday Night’s Main Event was a work
The former World Heavyweight Champion is injured; there is no doubt about that. However, he did not suffer the injury at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
WWE used the show to showcase the injury, which he had already sustained earlier. This enabled the company to have him out of action for a while owing to an injury.
According to Dave Meltzer from Wrestling Observer Radio, the plan was to show him suffer an injury that would put him on the shelf for at least nine months, but he would surprisingly return at SummerSlam 2025 to cash-in against the winner of CM Punk vs. Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship.
The plan was to do the injury to Seth Rollins at Saturday’s Main Event. You’re thinking he’s hurt badly, he’s gone. And then he surprises everyone, cashes in on the Gunther-Punk winner, which probably Punk, right? That’s the one he’s always screwing with. And then he ends up the champion. So Punk gets the title and then loses it in seconds, I figure.
He added that while the angle was brilliant, it’s already out in the open. Triple H might not move forward with a creative direction that has become extremely predictable, and fans are expecting the cash-in at The Biggest Party of the Summer.
