A recent development could mean that the former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Sasha Banks and Naomi are back in the company or it could mean something else entirely.
It was back on May 15th, 2022 when Sasha Banks and Naomi left WWE due to being frustrated over their creative direction as the Women’s Tag Team Champions.
Since leaving WWE, there have been numerous reports that the duo are coming back to WWE with reports of contract negotiations among other things. Due to WWE undergoing a regime change with Vince McMahon retiring in July and Stephanie McMahon taking over with her husband Triple H, more women are being hired while they are constantly featured on TV.
Whether it actually means Banks and Naomi are back in WWE soon is unknown. It was mentioned by Fightful Select that a WWE source believes the company “just attached the wrong open to the start of the show” meaning they used one from the past rather than what’s current.
For the Crown Jewel Kickoff show, the normal WWE signature featured Cody Rhodes and current WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey.
On November 4th, Banks posted a video on Instagram where she spoke about something big happening for her in November.
“As time passes, there has been so much growth, there’s been so much beautiful opportunity, and a journey that I’ve been loving, but as time passes, the date is coming that I have been waiting for, for the past 6 months, and I can’t wait. I am really gonna make the most of this November to make all my dreams happen in preparation for this date that I’ve been waiting for. I’m very excited, and I hope you guys come along for this journey. I just want to let you know there’s going to be something so fucking crazy coming.”
Sasha Banks and Naomi were also together recently with The New Day trio and Jimmy Uso (Naomi’s husband) at the “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” movie premiere.
