Ronda Rousey found herself in an unfamiliar position at WWE SummerSlam.
Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler had been close friends for years until all that changed at Money In The Bank. On that show, the two stars were defending their WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship against Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez with Baszler shockingly turning on her long-time friend to cost them the title.
This led to the two women going back to their roots at SummerSlam as they clashed in an MMA Rules match. Once upon a time, Rousey recruited Baszler onto her team on the UFC reality show The Ultimate Fighter but there was no love lost in Ford Field between the two MMA Four Horsewomen.
The stipulation gave the match a very different feel to the rest of the card as the former MMA fighters traded submission attempts. In the end, Shayna Baszler locked in the Kirifuda Clutch to put Rousey to sleep and pick up the definitive win.
Is Ronda Rousey leaving WWE after Shayna Baszler bout?
Ronda Rousey’s feud with Shayna Baszler is believed to have been somewhat rushed due to Rousey giving the company a date for her departure.
A new report has indicated that the former UFC star’s exit from the company could be “imminent” following SummerSlam.
