Cody Rhodes Won’t Defeat Roman Reigns At WrestleMania Claims AEW Star

One AEW star doesn’t think Cody Rhodes will be finishing his story.

From the moment that Cody Rhodes re-signed with WWE, he made it clear that he had one mission. Win the World Championship that eluded his famous father and become WWE Champion.

This saw the American Nightmare win the Royal Rumble in 2023, but he was defeated by Roman Reigns at WrestleMania. Fast forward 12 months, and Rhodes is in the same position yet again. He’s coming off the back of winning the Royal Rumble and seems destined for a rematch with Reigns to finish the story.

Although Seth Rollins has made a World Title pitch of his own.

While the majority of fans feel that Rhodes will defeat Reigns to finally climb to the top of the mountain, one AEW star is less convinced.

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Thunder Rosa explained that WWE seems determined to have Reigns keep breaking records, meaning he would need to win at WrestleMania in order to surpass the likes of Hulk Hogan.

“I personally don’t think they’re gonna put the title Roman Reigns has on Cody,” Rosa said. “I think they want to break Hulk Hogan’s reign.”

Rosa suggested that Rhodes could instead make his own history and help elevate Rollins’ World Heavyweight Title.

“I think it would be kind of risky for Cody to pick Roman,” Rosa continued. “And I know everybody wants that, but a title is a title. And he can make his own history with this title.”

Cody Rhodes Set For SmackDown

Following Seth Rollins’ somewhat unexpected sales pitch on Raw, Cody Rhodes is heading to SmackDown to address his past with the Tribal Chief.

Immediately after his Rumble win, Rhodes signaled to Reigns that he was coming for his title, but the challenge from Rollins has muddied the waters somewhat, especially in light of continued speculation around The Rock.
