Cody Rhodes Heading To WWE SmackDown

Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes won big at the 2024 Royal Rumble and now the star of Monday Night Raw is heading to WWE SmackDown.

For the second year in a row, Cody Rhodes won the men’s Royal Rumble match, booking him a place in the main event of WrestleMania 40. In 2023, Rhodes failed to dethrone Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship so is looking for redemption and a chance to finish his story.

After Rhodes dumped out CM Punk to win the Rumble, he made very clear what champion he was challenging this time around as he pointed to an agitated Reigns who was watching on in a skybox. However, with CM Punk out of WrestleMania due to injury, WWE might be about to pivot.

Cody Rhodes Has Big Decision To Make

World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins gave Cody Rhodes something to think about on Raw. Rollins called Reigns championship the “Hollywood” title and asked Rhodes if he’d not rather win the workhorse belt, saying that’s the one Dusty Rhodes would go for.

Rhodes seemed conflicted and admitted he now has a choice to make. Things could get clearer on SmackDown, however, as Rhodes took to social media to confirm that he’ll be there on the 2nd of February.

Whether or not Rhodes comes face to face with Roman Reigns remains to be seen but it could give an indication as to what the WrestleMania 40 main event will be.
