Ridge Holland Responds As GoFundMe Campaign Goes Viral

Ridge Holland leans on the ropes

Ridge Holland has issued an apology.

On October 13, Ridge Holland announced that he’d been informed by WWE that his contract won’t be renewed when it expires in mid-November. While WWE releases are a fact of life within the industry, the decision was met with anger on social media as Holland is currently out of action after suffering a major foot injury.

Holland later took to social media to vent his frustration, and it was subsequently reported that this decision caused WWE to end his contract early.

As the controversy around his departure continued to grow, a GoFundMe page was set up, with the likes of Chelsea Green, Kyle Fletcher, Nick Jackson, Omos, and more all donating.

While there’s been plenty of support for the campaign, there’s also been some very vocal criticism, with some claiming Holland’s situation is no different from anyone else who may lose their job.

Ridge Holland Makes GoFundMe Request

In a new post on social media, Holland said that he had no idea the page would be going live. He added that he’s asked for no further donations to be accepted, with the money raised being given to charity.

In closing, he apologised for any offence caused by the campaign.

Thank you all for the incredible support shown through the GoFundMe campaign.

However, I want to clarify that I was not aware the page was going live and had no prior discussion with the family member who created it.

I’ve since requested that no further donations be accepted, and this change should take effect within the next 24 hours.

One we figure out how to move forward and I recoup the amount donated, I will be donating said amount to charity.

I sincerely apologize if the page caused any upset or offense – that was never the intention. Thank you for your understanding and kindness.

In a recent video, Ridge Holland expressed his regret at publicly venting his frustration about WWE’s decision to let him go. Holland described the public comments as “out of character,” but put it down to pure frustration at feeling he never reached his potential.
