Rey Mysterio Will Slap Dominik Mysterio “Right In The Face” For Recent Insult
A recent comment from Dominik Mysterio incensed Rey Mysterio so badly that he’s not going to mince words the next time the two of them cross paths.
Rey and Dominik had a long feud that seemed to culminate – at least for the time being – at WrestleMania 39 when father Rey beat his son in one of the most exciting matches of the entire show.
Although the two have since moved on to other feuds, there is still some animosity between them as Dominik doesn’t seem to get enough out of mocking his father in one way or another.
During a recent appearance on WWE’s The Bump, Rey Mysterio talked about how his mood soured after winning the United States Championship when Dominik called his win “sad”.
“I was actually reading one of Dom’s comments saying how sad it was for me to have to try and win a title when he had just become North American champion.
And I’ll tell you what — if I see him, I’ll slap him right in the face for saying that, because it’s not true. I don’t feel that way. The opportunity was given and I took advantage of it, just like he did.”
Rey Mysterio wants a title versus title match with Dominik
In addition to wanting to slap Dominik as soon as he sees him, Rey Mysterio believes that since both men are singles champions that they should both put their respective title matches on the line in a unification match of sorts.
“At the end of the day, if we come to bump shoulders again, and he’s still champion and I’m still champion, I would not mind putting this title against his title on the line.”
Both title changes took place within a month of each other, with Dominik Mysterio winning the NXT North American Championship on July 18th and Rey winning the United States Championship on August 11th.
