Ultimate Babyface Rey Mysterio Names Wrestling’s Greatest Heel

Rey Mysterio recently revealed who he thought was the greatest heel wrestler, while also throwing shade at his son.

In a video shared on Adrian Hernandez‘s YouTube page, the WWE Hall of Famer was seen attending ComplexCon, where he interacted with rapper Quavo.

The duo discussed a variety of subjects, including wrestling heels.

When asked about who he thought was the greatest wrestling heel, Adrian interrupted, saying, “Your son” towards Mysterio.

The 50-year-old retorted with, “F*ck my son.”

As the hosts and the audience burst into laughter, Rey Mysterio answered, naming some of the industry greats, and putting Ric Flair at the top of that list.

When Eddie (Guerrero) was a heel, he was vicious. You have that fine definition of being a heel and completely not liked, or Chris Jericho, who was a heel but he made you laugh so much. If I had to pick a real heel, there have been so many, Ric Flair, without a doubt. He talked the talk, walked the walk. If you wanted to be a bad guy, you wanted to be like him. [H/T: Fightful]

Mysterio has been away from in-ring action since suffering an injury in April during an episode of SmackDown. The timeline for his return currently remains unclear.

Rey Mysterio On Why He Can Never Be A Heel

In an earlier interview with WrestleZone, Rey Mysterio was asked about a potential heel turn. The question was in reference to the fact that he has been a babyface for most of his career.

They (fans) would really have to, like, push me to the edge. I mean, even my wife says, like, ‘I never see you get mad at anyone but me. Like, why do you not fight? You don’t fight with anyone, but when you want to fight, you fight with me.’ So, I mean, it would be very hard for me to get pushed.

I think the only time that I’ve been closest to becoming a heel, or I guess we were just having fun cuz that’s how we were, is Filthy Animals. That has been the closest, but overall, I just, uh, my personality, my demeanor is very laidback. So, I think it would be very hard.
