One of the recently released WWE stars has revealed they asked to leave the company.

News broke on the 21st of September that WWE had resumed the practice of mass releases as several stars confirmed they were no longer with the company. Things began when Mustafa Ali revealed he was no longer working with WWE before Emma did as well in a somewhat heartbreaking fashion as just an hour before she referred to the company holding a stadium show in her native Australia as “a dream.”

Other stars such as Shelton Benjamin, former World Heavyweight Champion Dolph Ziggler, Dana Brooke, and Matt Riddle were among those leaving the company with several other NXT names also let go.

NXT star requested WWE exit

Taking to social media, Yulisa Leon commented on her exit from the company and indicated that she had actually requested to leave:

“To my dear fans and general public. No price is too high to fight for what you are and what you want: To be the woman of your dreams. I thank the WWE & NXT Universe for honoring me with the opportunity to be the first Mexican woman under contract (as a wrestler).

“I learned what I never imagined, I enjoyed like never before & I will stay with the great experiences and incredible friendships but for personal reasons, I took the decision to ask to be released from my contract.

“I will let you know the reasons at a later time & I am deeply grateful for the facilities and for leaving the doors open for me. I am still focused on my next projects, expect to hear from me very soon.”

Yulisa Leon frequently teamed with Valentina Feroz in NXT and her last match came with Feroz on the 1st of August when they lost to Elektra Lopez and Lola Vice. During Feroz’s two years on the roster, she only competed in 27 matches for the company, winning just 5 on TV.
