Pre-All In AEW Collision Sees Viewership Rise
AEW Collision has gained an audience of over half a million for its final episode before All In.
As reported by Wrestlenomics, the August 26th show drew an average audience of 552,000 viewers and obtained an 18-49 rating of 0.16. Comparing this to the August 19th episode that drew an average audience of 482,000 viewers, the increase calculates to approximately 14.5%.
The news will be well received by All Elite Wrestling, as the previous 3 weeks have seen low viewership following a strong start back in June. It should also be noted that the August 26th episode was pre-taped ahead of time due to the roster travelling to the UK for All In, meaning that the show still managed an increase in viewership despite spoilers being available to read online.
The show faced tough competition from the opening weekend of College Football, and things are set to get tougher next week as Collision will go head-to-head with WWE Payback on September 2nd.
Issues To Be Addressed Before The Next Episode Of AEW Collision
While the August Bank Holiday weekend will be remembered as the day when AEW put on their biggest show inside Wembley Stadium on a sunny day in London, a metaphorical dark cloud looms over the promotion in the days after. Following an altercation between CM Punk and Jack Perry at the event, it has now been reported that both men have been suspended while a thorough investigation is conducted.
CM Punk is the top star on the Saturday night show, with the majority of the promotional material centred around the Second City Saint. With an upcoming AEW Collision taping and All Out both being held in Chicago, it will be interesting to see how booking is affected by the sudden changes.
