Paul Heyman Explains Turning Down WWE Hall Of Fame

Paul Heyman

Paul Heyman has revealed that he has turned down previous opportunities to be inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame.

Heyman will be enshrined in the hallowed Hall Of Fame alongside the likes of Bull Nakano and The U.S Express during a star-studded ceremony in Philadelphia on 5th April.

‘The Wise Man’ has long been touted for a place in the WWE Hall Of Fame and was a firm favourite to be inducted in 2024 once Lincoln Financial Field was announced as the location for WWE’s top Premium Live Event.

The stadium is located just a matter of minutes from the former home of the ECW Arena, a venue where Heyman famously helped Extreme Championship Wrestling stamp a huge mark on professional wrestling before closing it’s doors in 2001.

During a recent chat with TMZ Sports, Heyman surprisingly revealed that the induction could have been on the cards in prior years but he had instead declined in order to focus on his critically acclaimed work in recent years with Roman Reigns and The Bloodline:

“If I had accepted the award while I was The Advocate for Brock Lesnar and none of my work with Roman Reigns and The Bloodline was part of my Hall of Fame induction, then by now, we’d be sitting there saying, ‘Oh, how did we induct him five years ago and missed this whole chapter of his career.”

Despite the upcoming induction, Heyman wasted little time in confirming that he would continue his on-screen relationship with Roman Reigns for the foreseeable future:

“Roman Reigns and I are not going anywhere. We plan on sticking around. He will continue to be the reigning defending Undisputed WWE Universal Heavyweight Champion in the greatest title run of all time.”

Jim Ross Applauds Hall Of Fame Nod For Paul Heyman

Heyman’s upcoming honour has been met with universal approval from those within the industry, with current AEW commentator and previous WWE Hall Of Fame inductee Jim Ross recently adding his name to the list of those heaping praise upon Heyman.

Ross noted his belief that there is nobody more deserving of the honour that his former broadcast partner.
