NXT Stars Expected To Leave WWE When Contracts Expire
The Dyad look to depart WWE in a matter of months.
As reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the tag team of Rip Fowler and Jagger Reid are not set to renew their contracts with the company, which expire on October 14th. The tag team were previously responsible for expelling The Creed Brothers from the brand back in July, defeating the former Tag Team Champions in a loser leaves NXT match. Whilst not confirmed, it is speculated that this could be the same way that The Dyad is written off TV.
Prior to the duo joining the stable Schism, which also features Joe Gacy and Ava Raine, Fowler and Reid were better known as Zack Gibson and James Drake. Competing as The Grizzled Young Veterans, the group would predominantly be a part of the UK branch of NXT, capturing the Tag Team Championships once while competing in the promotion.
When Is WWE NXT Broadcast?
The developmental brand would switch from a one-hour pre-taped show to a two-hour live broadcast on the USA Network in September 2019. Originally airing on Wednesdays, the show went head-to-head with AEW Dynamite, designed to be competition for the new promotion and reduce the overall viewership.
The night after WrestleMania 37, the third brand would switch to Tuesday nights, ending their broadcasts alongside All Elite Wrestling. The show would undergo a drastic change in presentation in September 2021, swapping the black and gold for a more colourful presentation and rebranding it as NXT 2.0. The new aesthetic would last for one year, reverting to the classic logo one year later.
Following some turbulent months as part of the 2.0 Era, the Tuesday night show has seen a resurgence in recent weeks, with recent shows drawing the highest audiences in over 2 years.
