Top NJPW Star Makes Forbidden Door Challenge To Orange Cassidy

NJPW star Zack Sabre Jr has challenged Orange Cassidy to a bout at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.

The British star appeared in a vignette during the the 8th June edition of AEW Collision to challenge the former AEW International Champion to a match at the highly anticipated pay per view event, set to emanate from the UBS Arena in Elmont, NY on 30th June.

Sabre Jr revealed that he had unfinished business with Cassidy after the AEW star had retained his AEW International title in a fatal four way at last year’s Forbidden Door event in a contest also featuring Sabre Jr, Katsuyori Shibata, and Daniel Garcia.

Forbidden Door Card Begins To Take Shape

The card for AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2024 is starting to take shape, with Jon Moxley set to defend his IWGP Heavyweight Championship against the dangerous Tetsuya Naito.

Swerve Strickland will defend the AEW World Championship against Will Ospreay whilst Mina Shirakawa is set to challenge ‘Timeless’ Toni Storm for the AEW Women’s World Championship.

Mercedes Moné will battle it out with Stephanie Vaquer in a Winner Takes All bout for both the AEW TBS and NJPW Strong Women’s Championship whilst Konosuke Takeshita and Mark Briscoe will be amongst the participants in a ladder match to crown a new AEW TNT Champion after injury saw previous holder Adam Copeland stripped of the title by AEW EVP’s Matthew and Nicholas Jackson.
