AEW Champion Stripped Of Title

Young Bucks AEW

Despite winning at Double Or Nothing, Adam Copeland’s time as a champion in AEW is over as he’s been stripped of the TNT Title by The Young Bucks.

At Double Or Nothing, Adam Copeland defeated Malakai Black in a barbed wire steel cage match to retain the TNT Championship but that win came at a major cost.

During the match, Copeland set Black up on a table before ascending the cage but his leap from the top went wrong as he landed on his feet, giving Black a glancing blow to send him through the table.

Adam Copeland has revealed he needs surgery on a broken tibia following the spot and that means he will be out of action for quite some time. AEW’s EVPs The Young Bucks took matters into their own hands in regards to Copeland’s title on Dynamite.

Adam Copeland Stripped Of AEW Title

Riding high after their big win at Anarchy In The Arena, The Elite were in a celebratory mood on Dynamite in Los Angeles. However, The Young Bucks quickly got down to business to announce they were stripping Copeland of the TNT Title due to his injury and planned to simply hand the title to Jack Perry.

However, Christopher Daniels – who had been fired by The Young Bucks previously – returned with the new title of Interim EVP and relayed a message from Tony Khan that the next TNT Champion will be crowned via a ladder match at Forbidden Door and if Perry wants the gold he’ll have to earn it like everybody else.

The segment ended with The Elite looking to confront Daniels before he was joined by The Acclaimed and Daddy Ass to even the odds as The Elite backed down.
