Nikki Bella Responds To Gross WWE Chants
Nikki Bella is ready to fight back.
Just seven days after promising to have her back, Nikki Bella sensationally took out Stephanie Vaquer on the November 10 edition of Raw.
In the seconds after Vaquer successfully defended her Women’s World Championship against Raquel Rodriguez, Bella struck. After laying out the champion, she celebrated by standing over Vaquer while holding the title belt to the sky.
Fans on social media were quick to highlight the negative chants Bella received during the segment, which included “Cena left you,” referencing her former relationship with the WWE veteran.
Nikki Bella Hits Back
On the latest episode of the Nikki & Brie Show, Nikki addressed the chants from the crowd during her appearance. She said the hate is “gross,” but admitted that she didn’t hear the calls at the time and only became aware of them when friends and family later pointed them out.
“The hate is so gross. Even some of the chants that I got [on Raw]. Honestly, I think they got more picked up on TV because I was so in my moment that I didn’t even know or hear it until mom or you told me.”
The veteran also confirmed that she’ll address her heel turn on the upcoming Raw taping in Madison Square Garden.
“That’s why I’m not going to really say anything here. I’m going to wait for a live mic and it should be in front of the MSG [Madison Square Garden] crowd. I’ll explain myself. I got a lot I want to say. There is no better crowd to do it in front of than MSG.”
Bella went on to reference comments from Big E, where he said he was delighted to see her finally turn heel. He explained that this will give her character a much-needed edge, rather than just being the veteran who was happy to be involved with the current roster.
“They all know how much I love this business, how much passion I have for wrestling and the work I put in. It’s not like I come on here and always say, ‘When I had two days free where I didn’t have my son, I flew to Orlando to get in the ring for five hours and then fly straight back.’ I don’t talk about that stuff all the time, but the people that know, know.
I truly love this business and I want to give it my all and I really like what Big E said because I don’t need to sit around and put people over. I know what I can do and what my worth is. You’re going to start to hear it a lot more. I haven’t even said a word and I love the recognition I’m already getting.”
Ahead of her heel turn, Nikki Bella revealed she’s been working with Bryan Danielson to improve in the ring and tweak her character since returning to television.
