Next Challenger For GUNTHER Determined On WWE Raw
GUNTHER now knows the next challenger for his Intercontinental Title following WWE Raw.
GUNTHER is marching his way towards the record books as being the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion in WWE history but it looks as though he faces another roadblock to reach that goal.
The Ring General retained his title at SummerSlam when he defeated Drew McIntyre but one night later on Raw, four more WWE stars were on the hunt for gold.
WWE official Adam Pearce made the match earlier in the day that put Ricochet, Chad Gable, Tommaso Ciampa, and Matt Riddle in a four-way bout with the winner getting a shot at GUNTHER’s title. In a well received match, Chad Gable was able to pick up the win in his home state of Minnesota when he nailed Ciampa with Chaos Theory. In a heart-warming moment after the bout, Gable celebrated in the ring with his son.
Now Chad Gable will need the full backing of his Alpha Academy if he’s to do something that nobody has done in over 400 days and that’s beat GUNTHER for the Intercontinental Championship.
GUNTHER on the verge of making WWE history
Following his victory over Drew McIntyre at SummerSlam, The Ring General is now less than 32 days away from overtaking The Honky Tonk Man for the longest Intercontinental Championship reign in WWE history.
The WWE Hall of Famer famously held that title from June 1987 until SummerSlam 1988 when The Ultimate Warrior defeated him for the gold in just 30 seconds.
