New Update On Santos Escobar’s WWE Status Amid Absence
Santos Escobar has not been seen on WWE TV since being re-signed in early October.
Escobar’s contract with the Stamford promotion expired on the midnight of October 6, amid speculations about him potentially joining AEW.
However, within 48 hours, it was reported that he had signed back with the company and was earning more than what he was offered in his initial contract.
Meanwhile, Fightful Select has now provided an update on the status of the leader of Legado Del Fantasma.
The report suggests that the Stamford promotion had big plans for Santos Escobar before he left. While those plans may still come into effect, there is no urgency or pressure on Triple H or the WWE creative team to reintroduce him as yet.
Escobar’s last appearance in WWE was during a loss to Rey Fenix on the May 2 episode of SmackDown.
He last wrestled at the AAA x WWE Worlds Collide: Los Angeles event, where Legado Del Fantasma defeated El Hijo de Dr. Wagner, Pagano, and Psycho Clown.
Furthermore, he was spotted backstage during the October 27 taping of RAW, but was not featured in any way.
Santos Escobar Waiting Patiently
At the time of being re-signed, media reports suggested that Santos Escobar was not concerned about being paid more money as much as the progression of his storyline.
While signing the contract, he was also promised that WWE would feature him in progressive angles.
With more questions emerging about Escobar than answers, the former NXT Cruiserweight Champion posted a message on X about waiting patiently.

Elsewhere, his former teammate, Rey Mysterio, recently returned on WWE RAW to confront his son, Dominik Mysterio.
Following developments in the storyline, a match has been finalized between the father-son duo at Guerra de Titanes, with Dominik’s AAA Mega Championship on the line.
