New Direction Suggested For Dominik Mysterio After WWE Title Loss

Dominik Mysterio

Dominik Mysterio had a forgettable Monday Night RAW.

After spending weeks dodging losses by using crafty maneuvers during his Intercontinental Championship defence, Mysterio’s luck finally ran out against John Cena.

The 28-year-old tried to be cheeky as he attempted a fake chair shot attack, but his veteran adversary was one step ahead.

Competing in his hometown of Boston, Massachusetts, Cena had extra motivation, as he no-sold Mysterio’s finisher, instead converting it into an Attitude Adjustment of his own for the successful pinfall.

Thus, the 48-year-old became the Intercontinental Champion for the first time, also securing a spot on the elite Grand Slam Champions list.

Despite being a heel, Dominik Mysterio continues to remain a must-see superstar on RAW. So, what does this setback mean for him? Where does he go from here?

Sam Roberts of Notsam Wrestling discussed the possibility on his podcast, despite not liking it.

You could throw Dominik in the (Last Time Is Now) tournament, and if Dominik wins the tournament, then wins the Intercontinental title, that feels like a little bit too much of a hero’s outcome. I don’t love the idea of Dominik goes from having to lie, cheat, and steal to sneak his way through everything to now, he wins a 16-man tournament and a rematch, like, that feels like almost too much. Dominik Mysterio Lashes Out After Title Loss On RAW

On RAW, Dominik Mysterio interrupted the John Cena segment with his own agenda, which involved his father, Rey Mysterio.

As if the match being made was not already a setback, the loss definitely would have hurt the young champion.

While Mysterio still has the AAA Mega Championship, he was not impressed by Triple H or his Judgment Day stablemates.

In a video shared by the WWE social media account, he can be seen lashing out at multiple individuals, including his friends.

Whether or not “Dirty” Dom weasels his way back into the Intercontinental Championship picture or WWE goes in a different direction remains to be seen.
