Brand New AEW Signing Debuts At Spring BreakThru
AEW has snapped up another big-name free agent following their recent talent exodus as Spring BreakThru welcomed a former world champion.
After losing an I Quit Match to Mike Santana at Genesis, Josh Alexander announced he was quitting TNA. This set up a storyline where Alexander was eventually written off television via a loss to Eric Young on the February 23 edition of Impact.
On the April 2 edition of Dynamite, the company announced the brackets for the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament with several huge matches made. Jay White had to be pulled from the tournament and was replaced by Kevin Knight. Knight was beaten by Will Ospreay, with Ospreay going on to face Takeshita in the semi-final.
Kyle Fletcher defeated Mark Briscoe with Fletcher meeting the winner of the last quarter-final between Hangman Adam Page and a wild card. On AEW Dynamite Spring BreakThru, Page found out his opponent as a weapon walked into AEW.
Josh Alexander Signs With AEW
Josh Alexander was Page’s surprise opponent as he made his debut in AEW. Page picked up the win and was attacked by his semi-final opponent, Kyle Fletcher. Don Callis had a word in Josh Alexander’s ear that led to the Walking Weapon joining in the assault, allowing Fletcher to leave Page laid out.
"The Protostar" Kyle Fletcher faces off against his next #OwenHartCup opponent Hangman Adam Page, but what does Don Callis want with Josh Alexander?!
