Mercedes Mone Flips The Script To Retain TBS Championship At AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door

Mercedes Mone entrance on AEW Collision

Mercedes Mone was clearly at a disadvantage at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.

Mone defended her TBS Championship, which she has held since May 26, 2024, against Alex Windsor, Persephone, and Bozilla.

The match was billed as an international showcase, with wrestlers from AEW, CMLL, and STARDOM competing in it.

Hometown hero Windsor entered the match as one of the favorites, and certainly found her moments to shine.

It was, however, Bozilla, who dominated most of the match, even Gorilla pressing Mone at the beginning of the match onto Windsor and Persephone.

Midway through the match, Bozilla received loud cheers from the audience at the O2 Arena.

Mercedes Mone Pulls Off Victory Out Of Thin Air

It’s not always that Mercedes Mone is overshadowed by her opponents.

However, tonight, she took a step back, allowing her rivals to have their time in the sun.

After Bozilla, Windsor was the outright star, even putting her strength on display with a German suplex while being hung upside down on the turnbuckle.

Persephone dominated the closing minutes, hitting a Razor’s Edge on Bozilla.

It was Mercedes Mone’s wits that allowed her to claim the victory when she rolled up Persephone for the shocking win.

At Forbidden Door, Mone surely exemplified how to turn lemons into lemonade.

She currently holds 9 championships across different promotions.
