Matt Riddle And Nic Nemeth Win Big At NJPW New Beginning

Matt Riddle and Nic Nemeth are flying high after leaving WWE.

It was a big night for former WWE Superstars at NJPW New Beginning in Sapporo as both Matt Riddle and Nic Nemeth — formerly Dolph Ziggler won gold.

Nemeth claimed the IWGP Global Heavyweight after pinning David Finlay. The match was Nic Nemeth’s first in NJPW after the star made his debut for the promotion at Wrestle Kingdom 18 where he brawled with Finlay.

At New Beginning, Nemeth got the win following the Danger Zone aka the ZigZag.

The victory came after Matt Riddle defeated Hiroshi Tanahashi to win the NJPW World TV Title with the BroDerek.

Riddle made his NJPW debut at New Year Dash, laying down a challenge to the new company President.

Matt Riddle Has No Hard Feelings Over WWE Exit

Back in September 2022, the former MMA star was released by WWE after what they felt was one controversial incident too many. Just prior to his departure Matt Riddle had alleged he was sexually assaulted by a Port Authority officer on social media, before later deleting the post.

Reflecting on his time with WWE, Riddle said he “loved every second” and thanked the company for giving him an opportunity.
