Matt Riddle Claims He Was Sexually Assaulted At Airport
Matt Riddle has claimed that a police officer at an airport sexually assaulted him while another report notes that an investigation is taking place.
There was a Matt Riddle post on Instagram on Sunday claiming that he was sexually assaulted by a police officer at the JFK Airport in New York City. Riddle would end up deleting his post. This is what he wrote:
“Nothing like being sexually assaulted by an officer and harassed at the jfk airport, no means no and just because I’m nice doesn’t mean yes!!! A*shole!!! Don’t know they’re Twitter or instagram handles but I took pictures, normally I’m like whatever but today was really weird and uncomfortable and they made a point to make me feel small and useless. Definitely one of the most uncomfortable travel days I’ve ever had thanks NYC you’re so progressive and accepting!”
In addition to that, Riddle also posted a photo of the officer who allegedly sexually assaulted him.
Riddle also posted a selfie of himself leaving JFK Airport while saying he never wants to go there again.
Matt Riddle was deemed a “disorderly person” by police officers
There are more details about what happened thanks to information provided by TMZ. They reported that “Port Authority officers got a call for a disorderly person who was deplaning, and they met him in the terminal.” That person was Matt Riddle.
It was reported that when the police officers spoke to Riddle, he was apologetic about what happened. There was no police report filed and everybody involved was free to go without incident.
The TMZ report added that sources from Port Authority were shocked by what Riddle claimed because nothing happened that would warrant the kind of accusation that he made. It was added that an internal probe has been launched to investigate what happened.
Additionally, Ringside News reported that Riddle may have been “heavily intoxicated” during this incident at the airport.
In late 2022, Matt Riddle was suspended for 60 days after failing WWE’s wellness policy for a second time. The company sent him to rehab to deal with his problems as well. He was written off TV with a storyline injury and kept off television until April following WrestleMania 39.
Matt Riddle is currently a WWE Raw brand superstar who has been teaming up with Drew McIntyre of late in a rivalry with The Viking Raiders and The New Day. Riddle is a former Raw Tag Team Champion with Randy Orton and a former US Champion as well.
WWE has yet to publicly comment on the incident.
