A former WWE star has landed in New Japan Pro-Wrestling.

After almost 20 years with the company, Dolph Ziggler was released by WWE on September 21st, 2022. The star has largely been out of the wrestling limelight as he waited for his non-compete to expire, but after announcing a booking in Puerto Rico in late 2022, the former World Champion is back in a big way.

During Wrestle Kingdom 18, Ziggler — real name Nic Nemeth, appeared in the crowd at ringside along with his brother prior to the IWGP and NJPW Strong Tag Team Title clash between Bishamon (YOSHI-HASHI & Hirooki Goto) and El Phantasmo & Hikuleo.

Ryan Nemeth is currently signed to AEW and makes regular appearances in Ring of Honor.

Dolph Ziggler Clashes With Son Of WWE Figure

The former Dolph Ziggler’s impact wasn’t limited to just watching the action as he got involved in the aftermath of the Triple Threat Match between David Finlay, Will Ospreay, and Jon Moxley. The match in question was won by Finlay as he became the IWGP Global Heavyweight Champion, and in celebration decided to taunt Nemeth. The exchange led to a short scuffle before things were brought back under control.

Finlay is the son of Fit Finlay who works as a coach and trainer with WWE, and brother of Brogan Finlay who recently signed with the company.

It’s been reported by Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam.net that Nemeth’s appearance at Wrestle Kingdom was kept a secret backstage.
