Matt Hardy Believes TNA’s New TV Deal Will Push Them Closer To AEW
TNA’s relationship with WWE flourished in 2025.
In January last year, an official press release stated that both companies had signed a multi-year deal that would allow them to swap talents.
The deal, which was exclusive for the NXT brand of the Stamford promotion, saw talents trade appearances, providing historic moments, including Trick Williams becoming the first active WWE talent to hold the TNA World Championship.
Likewise, The Hardys became the first team in their promotion to grab the NXT Tag Team Championships.
After making several appearances on NXT, Joe Hendry broke into the WWE main roster, even earning himself a WrestleMania match at the 41st edition of The Show of Shows.
Months later, reports suggested that the Carlos Silva-led company was in search of a new telecast partner.
While some of them claimed that WWE wanted its ally to sign with CW, thus emerging as a competitor for AEW, Total Nonstop Action ultimately chose AMC.
Through the new partnership, the company is set to earn around $30 million, with the official launch date set for January 15, 2026.
TNA’s Matt Hardy Reviews New Deal With AMC
One-half of the Total Nonstop Action World Tag Team Champion, Matt Hardy, recently voiced his opinion about the AMC deal.
Speaking on his The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, the 51-year-old believes that the contract will push his company more toward becoming the #2 wrestling company in the world, which is currently occupied by All Elite Wrestling.
Matt Hardy predicts TNA will push AEW for the perception of the number two promotion in 2026:
“TNA will push AEW for the perception of the number two wrestling company in 2026, and I worded that in a very specific way. I just think with this new deal, and we will see how often… pic.twitter.com/XAbWTNiQPH
