Major WWE Champion Applauded By Legend For “Lying Like A Rug”

A WWE Hall of Famer has praised a current champion…for their lies.

Former World Champion Mark Henry appeared on the No Holds Barred podcast, where he spoke highly about Seth Rollins’ ruse reveal at SummerSlam.

Rollins competed against LA Knight at Saturday Night’s Main Event XL, but during the match, he suffered a knee injury after awkwardly landing following a moonsault attempt.

Since then, Rollins disappeared from programming, as he shared recovery updates on social media.

On Night 1 of SummerSlam, after CM Punk defeated Gunther for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, The Visionary came out at the entrance on crutches.

However, he soon ditched his support devices and successfully cashed in the Money in the Bank contract on Punk.

During his appearance on the podcast, Henry was asked how he perceived Rollins’ act.

That dude lied like a rug and I applaud him for it because it’s been the mainstay of wrestling. When I did it, I wanted to be like Bob Orton. Bob Orton lied for three years. He had a broke arm with a cast for three years and used it as a weapon. Like, it’s the mainstay of wrestling. You’re supposed to lean into it. You’re supposed to do it. Like just to be a part of that history, Seth Rollins, congratulations to you, sir. [13:48 onwards]

Seth Rollins Faces An Uphill Task At WWE Clash In Paris

WWE Clash in Paris is scheduled for August 31.

On last week’s RAW, Seth Rollins was punished by general manager Adam Pearce for his indiscretion.

He booked Rollins in a fatal 4-way match against LA Knight, Jey Uso, and CM Punk.

The match surely puts the 39-year-old at a disadvantage, as he does not necessarily need to be pinned for the title to change hands.

WWE kicks off its UK Tour with the upcoming episode of SmackDown, leading to the Paris PLE.

In related news, Roman Reigns challenged this behemoth for a match in the French capital.
