Major Issues With LWO In WWE Says Ex-WCW Star

LWO WWE

One former WCW star thinks there’s a big problem with the LWO in WWE.

Rey Mysterio took Legado del Fantasma under his wing on SmackDown and reformed the short-lived WCW group LWO with them by his side. Santos Escoabr, Cruz Del Toro, Joaquin Wilde, and Zelina Vega have benefitted from the presence of the WWE Hall of Famer since then with the group taking the spotlight alongside Bad Bunny at Backlash held in Puerto Rico earlier in 2023. However, a former WCW star thinks there are major problems with the group.

Speaking on his K100 podcast, Konnan explained why he doesn’t think the LWO is helpful in representing the best in Latin American talent despite the relative success of Santos Escobar and US Champion Rey Mysterio:

“It doesn’t help that LWO … besides Santos and Rey, the other two guys … get squashed all the time. They’re like an afterthought. They’re like jobbers — that does not help.”

LWO struggling for tag team wins

Cruz Del Toro and Joaquin Wilde have lost their last seven televised matches in either tag team or six-man tag team competition. Their last televised win came on the 20th of January 2023 edition of SmackDown when they defeated the Maximum Male Models.

Rey Mysterio looks like he will be back in the spotlight very soon after Logan Paul called him out following his win over Dillon Danis.
