Major AEW Star Undergoes Double Knee Replacement Surgery
An AEW legend has undergone double knee replacement surgery.
On August 3, Dustin Rhodes took to X to inform his followers that he would be out of action. He also wrote that the doctor had advised him to undergo an invasive major surgery.
The 56-year-old veteran won the TNT Championship at AEW All In: Texas by defeating Daniel Garcia, Kyle Fletcher, and Sammy Guevara after Adam Cole relinquished the title.
Rhodes then faced Fletcher in a Street Fight on the July 31 edition of AEW Collision.
The match was a violent affair, which saw the wrestlers use multiple equipment, including thumbtacks. Fletcher ultimately won by dropping Rhodes with the Protoplex brain buster onto the thumbtacks.
After the bout, Fletcher repeatedly hit Rhodes on the knee with a steel chair against the ring post.
Rhodes recently shared an update on X, confirming the surgery.

It is expected to be a long road to recovery for the second-generation superstar.
AEW Champion Mercedes Mone Wins Another Title
AEW’s TBS Champion Mercedes Mone added another championship to her elite collection.
Ahead of her Forbidden Door 4-way match, the 33-year-old challenged Emersyn Jayne at Friday’s Revolution Pro Wrestling’s Global War UK event.
In the closing minutes of the match, she made Jayne tap out to her Statement Maker submission, thus becoming the new Discovery Wrestling Scottish Women’s Champion.
Mone currently holds 9 titles, including the AEW TBS Championship.
