Fans Call Out Logan Paul After Transphobic Social Media Post

Logan Paul

Logan Paul has come under fire after posting a transphobic message on social media.

On August 1st, Italy’s Angela Carini quit just 46 seconds into her second-round welterweight clash at the Paris Olympics against Imane Khelif of Algeria.

In 2023, Khelif was disqualified from the World Championships by the International Boxing Association (IBA) for showing elevated levels of testosterone. However, the IBA was later stripped of its status as the sports world governing body by the International Olympic Committee.

The IOC said all boxers in Paris “comply with the competition’s eligibility and entry regulations”.

When calling an end to her bout with Khelif, Carini was heard saying “It’s not right.” The Italian later told the media that she had to “preserve her life.”

This sparked a huge outpouring of debate and transphobic abuse on social media, with people claiming Khelif shouldn’t have been allowed to fight, and some going as far as wrongly claiming the boxer was trans.

As the hate began to fly, Logan Paul decided he’d add to the chaos on social media by describing Khelif’s win as “the purest form of evil.”

“This is the purest form of evil unfolding right before your eyes A man was allowed to beat up a woman on a global stage, crushing her life’s dream while fighting for her deceased father This delusion must end.”

In response to the abuse flooding social media, Isla Dawn urged people to keep their “transphobic opinions to yourself.” Although it initially appeared she was hitting back at Paul, the Scottish star quickly denied her comments were aimed at any particular individual.

However, legions of people around the world have called out Paul directly, branding his comments as transphobic and ignorant.
