Logan Paul Names Match That Was “Proudest Moment In WWE”
Logan Paul has revealed how his preparation for one match paid off.
Paul made his WWE debut at WrestleMania 38, tagging with The Miz to defeat Dominik and Rey Mysterio, although after the match, Miz turned on his partner and left him lying in the ring.
This meant that when the YouTube star signed a multi-year deal with the company later in 2022, Miz was his number one target. The pair clashed at SummerSlam, with Paul coming out on top.
Many fans and wrestlers alike were impressed by how quickly Paul took to pro wrestling, with his first performances universally praised. This gave WWE the confidence to give the star his biggest opportunity yet, a shot at Roman Reigns and the Undisputed WWE Championship at that year’s Crown Jewel.
Logan Paul “overprepared” for Roman Reigns match
In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Logan Paul spoke of his pride that WWE trusted him with the prestigious bout, and said he was determined to live up to expectations.
“That’s my proudest performance in WWE. It was my third match overall, and only my second singles match.
“Triple H and the executives trusted me to go with the face of the organization, headlining an event in Saudi Arabia. I couldn’t believe they trusted me in that position, but I was so excited to show them I could do it.”
Paul may have overprepared for the match, but it paid off, and he hopes he can clash with Reigns again someday.
“I was really enthusiastic to come into my own as a wrestler, so I really overprepared for that match,”
“It paid off. I pray that it’s going to age nicely, and maybe Roman and I can run it back. He’s so, so good.”
Logan Paul is currently preparing for a return to boxing against Dillon Danis, but despite this, he says he is “technically” a full-time wrestler, so it’s likely he’ll reappear in WWE sooner rather than later.
