WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle thinks WrestleMania 39 could see at least one major title change following the events of the 2023 Royal Rumble.

On January 28th in the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, Cody Rhodes returned to a WWE ring for the first time in seven months as the final entrant into the men’s Royal Rumble match. The American Nightmare became just the fifth WWE Superstar to win the Rumble match from the number 30 spot, last eliminating the night’s first entrant Gunther to book his place at WrestleMania 39.

Later in the show, Rhea Ripley made history in the women’s Rumble match as she became the first woman to go coast to coast in a Rumble match, winning the bout as the number one entrant.

Speaking on The Kurt Angle Show, the Olympic gold medallist thinks that both Cody Rhodes and Rhea Ripley stand a good chance of leaving WrestleMania 39 with gold around their waists:

“Without a doubt, I think those matches are going to be really, really good. You know, Cody Rhodes. I’m expecting him to win this thing. I think it’s his time and Rhea Ripley, I wouldn’t doubt if she won it, too. She’s been up and coming. She’s been pretty strong lately. So, you never know.”

It has already been confirmed that Rhodes will face Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns in Los Angeles, CA should Reigns survive the challenge of Sami Zayn at the Elimination Chamber.

Rhea Ripley has made her choice very clear in regards to WrestleMania as she challenged SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair for her title on The Grandest Stage of Them All.
