Kevin Owens Makes Return After WWE SmackDown (VIDEO)
Kevin Owens was back in a WWE ring after SmackDown went off the air in Toronto.
It appears as though WWE Tag Team Champion Kevin Owens is feeling better because he was involved in a post-show segment after Smackdown in Toronto on Friday night.
In the main event of Smackdown in Toronto, WWE Hall of Famer Edge defeated Sheamus in a tremendous match that could have been Edge’s retirement match or at least his WWE farewell match.
After the show, Edge did a promo for the hometown crowd of Toronto to thank them for all of their love and support.
What happened next involved Imperium’s trio of the Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER, Ludwig Kaiser & Giovanni Vinci walking out to potentially attack Edge after his speech. However, Edge had some backup.
As Imperium stood by the ring, former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre appeared looking for a fight while the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn arrived to join the fight. They were cheered heavily by the Canadian crowd.
The trio of McIntyre, Owens & Zayn picked up a win over the Imperium trio when Owens pinned Vinci after a KO Stunner. There was even a spot were the referee was knocked out of the ring and Edge hit a Spear on Vinci before the finish.
Kevin Owens Has Been Dealing With A Rib Injury
That Smackdown dark match was the first match Owens has had in about one month. Owens hasn’t wrestled since the July 17th edition of Raw when the champions Owens & Zayn beat Damian Priest & Dominik Mysterio in a tag team match.
On the July 24 Raw episode, The Judgment Day attacked Owens by the entrance area to write him off television to allow Owens time to recover from a fractured rib injury.
Since Owens was in action after Smackdown, it could mean he’ll be back in the ring at live events this weekend and perhaps on Monday’s Raw as well.

Following on from the dark match appearance, Owens would make his onscreen return on Raw 3 days later.
