Kevin Nash Recalls The Time He Thought A Wrestler Died During A WWE Match
WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash shared a harrowing memory from WrestleMania XIX involving a high-risk move during the match between Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle.
Speaking on his podcast “Kliq This,” Kevin Nash recalled the moment when Lesnar attempted a daring Shooting Star Press that went disastrously wrong, leading to a terrifying incident.
I’ll never forget when we were in Seattle and Brock and Kurt Angle had that match. Kurt was like half in the middle of the ring and then Brock took him and moved him another half to the corner.
Lesnar, perched on the far turnbuckle, quickly realised the distance to Angle was too great for the move to succeed. Despite this, he made the split-second decision to go through with it.
Brock’s in the far, far turnbuckle, he sets him and he realises he’s way too far. And Brock just says ‘F**k it,’
The result was a terrifying botch, with Lesnar landing on his head instead of executing the move correctly. Nash vividly remembered the chilling aftermath, saying:
I thought Brock killed himself. He didn’t even f**king sell it.
The impact of the failed Shooting Star Press left those watching in shock, fearing the worst for Lesnar. Despite the dangerous landing, Lesnar incredibly managed to continue the match, showcasing his remarkable resilience and toughness.
