Kenny Omega Singles Match Amongst Rumored AEW All In Card
Kenny Omega is likely going to be a major part of AEW All In and there is a current star in the company that he could face at the show.
The biggest show in All Elite Wrestling history is called All In. It will take place on Sunday, August 27th at Wembley Stadium in London, England with over 75,000 fans in attendance. It will be AEW’s first show in England since the company launched in 2019 and they will have that event in front of one of the biggest pro wrestling crowds ever.
As of this writing, only one match is official for the card: MJF defending the AEW World Championship against his good friend Adam Cole. That match was set up this past Wednesday on AEW Dynamite after MJF thanked Cole for helping Maxwell feel more comfortable being himself on AEW shows.
While we know the AEW World Title match at All In, nothing else is known and it has left fans wondering what’s going to be on the show.
In this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer wrote about some of the rumored matches on the show.
“There was a rumored card out that included FTR vs. Young Bucks, Kenny Omega vs. Konosuke Takeshita, Will Ospreay vs. Chris Jericho and BCC vs. Eddie Kingston & Orange Cassidy & ?. Kota Ibushi had indicated being on the show but wouldn’t fit in unless it was teaming with Omega.”
The rivalry between former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega and Konosuke Takeshita has been brewing for several months since Takeshita turned heel by joining Don Callis, who also turned on Omega months ago. AEW has had Omega and Takeshita compete in tag team matches, but they have yet to have a major singles match, so it makes sense to do it at All In.
Kenny Omega And The Elite Staying In AEW Long Term
Prior to AEW Dynamite 200 this week, the company announced that Kenny Omega, “Hangman” Adam Page and The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) aka The Elite have all re-signed with the company for long-term deals. The deals were actually made a few weeks ago, but they were told to “keep quiet” so the company could announce them on the day of the 200th episode of Dynamite.
Following The Elite winning a trios tag team match on Dynamite, Kenny Omega proclaimed that they will be on AEW Dynamite, Rampage, Ring of Honor and even Collision, which is a show they haven’t been on since it’s a CM Punk show. The issues between The Elite and CM Punk apparently remain strong, so they are being kept apart by the company.
