Jon Moxley Promises Something Extra Special On AEW Dynamite
Jon Moxley says something special is on the way.
Since making his return to AEW on the August 28th edition of Dynamite, Jon Moxley has been a man possessed. Fed up with how the company is being run, and how those around him were wasting their careers, Moxley decided to shake things up.
After recruiting Marina Shafir, a re-energised version of the Blackpool Combat Club began to pick apart the company piece by piece, attacking everyone they came into contact with. This included Bryan Danielson who was suffocated at the hands of the group, not once, but twice. On the second occasion, it was after Moxley had beaten him to claim the World Title and end his career.
On the October 23rd edition of Dynamite, the group’s path of destruction continued in a brutal fashion. As the show was about to end, the faction arrived and promptly attacked Daniel Garcia and Private Party with chairs. Moxley then dragged Chuck Taylor to the ring, and Claudio Castagnoli stomped on a chair across his throat.
It’s been announced that Orange Cassidy will appear on October 30th to address the attack.
Jon Moxley Will Make An Impression On Dynamite
Looking ahead to the episode dubbed “Fright Night” Moxley promised something special for those in the audience. During an interview with CantonRed.com, the star said he’s determined to deliver a memorable performance, even if it makes people uncomfortable or recoil in horror.
“I always have extra energy when I am back in Ohio,” Moxley said. “It’s like Superman flying close to the sun. It recharges me. This is the ooze I crawled out of and evolved from and I have something extra special for the people in attendance Wednesday.
This isn’t me at 18 years old getting in my beater truck and driving down to the flea market for a match. I’m bringing the big show back to Ohio and I feel a weight on my shoulders to give them something memorable.”
“I have a message for my fellow residents of Ohio,” Moxley continued. “You are the people I serve and I have a promise. I have something special for you. I speak in absolute truths. I’m not a used car salesman. There is no buy one free get one free special. You are taking off work. You might be getting a babysitter. You’re paying for tickets and parking.
Those are significant investments to me and I feel that weight on my shoulders. … I demand you feel something when you leave this event. It might be shock. It might be horror. You might be uncomfortable. I will create a memorable experience for you, though.”
Speaking elsewhere, Jon Moxley said he’s unconcerned by what AEW has become, instead focusing on what it can be in the future. He noted that in simple terms the company is still a toddler, and able to be molded into something groundbreaking.
