John Cena Opens Up About His Post-WWE Retirement Plans
Legendary WWE wrestler John Cena is all set to retire from in-ring action at the end of this week. The 17-time World Champion will wrestle the final match of his career this coming Saturday Night.
He is set to face former World Heavyweight Champion Gunther, as he won the ‘Last Time is Now’ tournament, and earned the right to face Cena in his final WWE match at this week’s Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Cena was recently seen talking in an interview with Tom Rinaldi on WWE’s YouTube channel, where he shed light on multiple topics. He opened up about his plans during a conversation with Tom.
John Cena signed a multi-year deal with WWE
While in conversation with Tom Rinaldi, John Cena confirmed that he is only retiring from in-ring competition in the promotion, as he feels he can’t keep up with the demand of the product.
He clarified that he will still be part of the WWE and recently signed a 5-year deal with the company to serve as its brand ambassador.
“I will be an ambassador to WWE. I’m already signed on for another five years. I was like, “Please, as long as you can do it. I would like to be in this family as an employee, as a contributing part for as long as I can”, Cena said.
This news comes as a relief for many fans who wondered whether December 13 would be the last time they’d see Cena in the Stamford-based promotion.
