John Cena has reacted to Zack Ryder’s return to the WWE main roster.

Cena has a shared history with Ryder, especially in the early 2010s, when they were allies and even featured in tag team matches.

But this was not before fans revolted by banding together and forcing WWE’s hands into giving Ryder more screen time.

He was initially featured in backstage segments with Cena, which evolved into tag team matches and singles bouts, with both wrestlers helping each other out whenever possible.

Even the 2011 Survivor Series pay-per-view witnessed “We Want Ryder” chants throughout the night, leading John Cena to speak with the WWE higher-ups about including Ryder in more storylines.

This led to the Broski’s pursuit and winning of the United States Championship, which he won after multiple failed attempts, at the 2011 Tables, Ladders, and Chairs event.

Despite seeing major success in 2011, Ryder ‘fell off the face of the earth’ in 2012 and never achieved the same level of success again.

He was released from WWE in 2020.

John Cena Reacts To Zack Ryder’s WWE Return

John Cena couldn’t be happier to see Zack Ryder back on WWE’s main roster.

On the November 14 taping of SmackDown, Ryder made his first main roster appearance in five years as LA Knight’s mystery opponent in the “Last Time Is Now” tournament.

As usual, the 17-time World Champion shared a captionless post, but included a picture of Ryder making his entrance on the show.

While the match did not earn the desired result for the former United States Champion, it sure made many wrestling fans happy.

Ryder’s wife and the Women’s United States Champion, Chelsea Green, shared an emotional post on X to celebrate the 40-year-old’s return.

Meanwhile, WWE may have secretly hinted at signing Zack Ryder full-time.
