John Cena Admits He’s Not Ashamed Of This Personal Decision
John Cena continues to uphold his status in society as an icon and a role model.
With stigma surrounding so many topics, the 17-time WWE Champion does not shy away from speaking about them while encouraging others to do the same.
Despite being a respectable figure, Cena has had moments when he needed to be lifted.
One such incident occurred during one of his appearances on WWE RAW after a hiatus. Fans in the arena and viewers worldwide noticed his bald patch.
In the subsequent weeks, his name was mentioned on the internet, along with memes about his receding hairline and whatnot.
During a recent interview with PEOPLE, John Cena discussed the embarrassment he felt, forcing him to take action and opt for hair transplant surgery.
I saw their signs that said ‘The bald John Cena.’ They pushed me into going to see what my options were. I now have a routine: red-light therapy, minoxidil, vitamins, shampoo, conditioner — and I also got a hair transplant last November. I hate the fact that if there wasn’t so much shame around it, I’d have gotten it done 10 years ago.
John Cena Does Not Feel Ashamed About Surgery
John Cena was not in Boston for the WWE SmackDown taping.
The 48-year-old, who is on his wrestling retirement tour, was promoting the upcoming Season 2 of his DC Comics TV Series, Peacemaker.
Cena stopped by for a chat with Extra‘s Mona Kosar Abdi, where he discussed hair health.
It’s not for everybody, but it certainly was for me. And even just the aesthetic confidence is one thing, but man, I want to entertain audiences and the variation of a hairstyle, you can become a different character. So, I viewed it as also a good work opportunity for me. So, there are multiple reasons why I wanted to lean in, and again, I made the choice, I’m confident with the choice. I’m not ashamed of what I did at all. [2:59 onwards]
Meanwhile, John Cena is scheduled for a SmackDown appearance on August 22 in Dublin, Ireland.
